Minutes
Meeting notes stay with the person who wrote them.
A note is the title, the discussion you type, the date, and the attendees. It can point at a receipt or a trip from the same person.
A note from a client workshop
After a client visit on October 12, 2026, the person who drove can file the notes they typed and link them to that trip. The note is not a transcript. Expensy stores the words that were entered.
- Title
- Client workshop
- Date
- October 12, 2026
- Attendees
- Priya, Jon
- Linked trip
- Client visit
The discussion can name what was decided and which receipt belongs with the meeting. A link points at one receipt or one trip the same person already entered.
What you enter
Every note has a title and a date. The discussion and the attendee list can be empty. You can edit a note you wrote. A note is not a receipt scan, so it does not use the monthly scan allowance.
Who can see a note
In a personal workspace you see your own notes. In a team, the owner sees every note. Other members see only the notes they wrote. A link stays inside that person's own receipts and trips.
Beside the receipts and the trips
Receipts, mileage, and minutes live in one workspace. A photo still becomes a receipt you review on the receipt scanning page, and a trip still uses the IRS business rate on the mileage page. A confirmed receipt on a paid plan can go to QuickBooks. Meeting notes are not exported that way.
