How Expensy handles your information.
Account
When you create an account we store your email address and a hash of your password. A display name is taken from the email address. A password account stays inactive until you confirm the email. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we store the identifier that provider gives us and the email they share.
Receipts, mileage, and minutes
A receipt photo is stored so you can review it. We keep the merchant, date, total, and category parsed from that photo. Mileage trips and meeting notes are stored with the person who entered them. A scan is counted only after a receipt parses successfully.
Workspaces
In a personal workspace you see your own submissions. In a team workspace, the owner can see every receipt, trip, and meeting note. Other members see only what they submitted. An invitation email goes to the address the owner enters, and the person joins only after they accept it.
Billing
Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Expensy stores the plan, the number of seats, and the Stripe customer id. Card numbers stay with Stripe.
We email you to confirm an account and to deliver a team invitation. We do not sell personal information.
